Industrial training institute, Kupwara was established in December 1962 and started its first batch of trainees in July 1989. It is one of the developed tehsils of District. The Institute under the guidance & support of National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT), DGET, Ministry of labor and Employment, GOI and State Council for Vocational Training (SCVT), Department of Technical Education, and Government of Jammu & Kashmir is rendering its services by imparting vocational training in job oriented courses including short term and part time courses.'
